Trail Maintenance

Trail Maintenance - WINTER 2012 - The incentive contiues to come out and help, every time you participate in trail work your name is submitted into our Trail Builders Draw.  We are going to offer up some neat swag.  We have a BCBR stem set and handlebars with other items coming in.

We have been busy fixing storm damage and improving trails.  Blowdown has been cleared from McFalls Creek Trail, Dipper Down and most of the Penticton Trails.  If anyone knows of trails requiring blowdown removal let us know where and how big it is.  Some of the Penticton Trails have been brushed and others will be done soon.  High Voltage has been re-opened with the removal of the large windfall.  John Rapp has been working on trails in the Edgehill area with more to come in 2012.

The Wizard & Phantom & others will be working on improvements to the BC Bike Race Course.  The upper Sweetwater Trail has been improved with Death Rattle is the newest edition.  Other sections of the bike race course have been identified for improving and we will plan work parties over the next few months.

As a group we can make the trails even better with good support form the membership.  The Wizard & Phantom do go out during the week so could use some help from those who have the time.. In 2011 the PRCA crews had 1030 hours of trail work, which is the best showing todate.  Also some other bikers have been doing trail work and I have asked them to track their hours.
