Powell River Cycling Association wants a new 2014 club cycling jersey and T-shirt ...
and we want YOU to design it!
This is what you'll receive if your jersey or T-shirt design is selected ... in addition to a free 2014 PRCA jersey AND T-shirt AND 2014 PRCA membership (individual or family)! PRCA apparel is bought and loved by both locals and tourists from around the globe. BC Bike Race (July) brings in over 500 international riders, many of whom leave PR with fond memories, blackberry thorn scars, and a local jersey or T-shirt.
YOU CAN ALSO FIND US VIA "THE TWITTER" OR "THE FACEBOOK" (BUT REALLY YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT DISCONNECTING AND JUST RIDING YOUR BIKE MORE!)
You can find great sources of detailed maps on the left side menu or you can also find A couple of easy-access for beginners local trails described here thanks to the Wild Women Cycling Club: Currently three trails are documented: Willingdon Beach Trail area, Penticton trails, and near the South entrance to Duck Lake Road.
Thanks to everyone who came to our AGM today. And thanks to all the forest gnomes, leaders, organizers, riders, trail builders, trailblazers, bike lovers, advocates, meeting-goers, etc. So much work has been done to get cycling where it is today in the region. Well done, people.
Halloween ride 2013:
AND THE WINNER of $500.00 IS............
David Parkinson, a life-long bicycle rider, is the winner of the PRCA 2013 Season Finale Grand Prize Draw!
How did he win? He became a member of the PRCA. It was just that easy!
With a membership this year, each rider's name was entered into the Grand Prize Draw. Additional entries were gained for each time a member attended one of the PRCA's four, Toonie Rides. The Grand Prize was a collaboration between the PRCA and
local bike shop Suncoast Cycles. The PRCA put up $250 and Suncoast Cycles owners Frank & Wendy Chrinko matched the funds.
David isn't certain what he'll be using the Suncoast Cycles Gift Certificate for, but some of the options he mentioned were a new bicycle trailer or maybe even a new bike! Either way, as someone who has never owned a car, he said he will use his purchase on some of the new cycling infrastructure which the City of Powell River and the Powell River Regional District are starting!
